Acer Aspire 6930G Laptop Notebook Review

* This Review/Guide is about the Acer Aspire Laptop 6930G-643G25Bn Laptop Notebook.

* I bought this product for my Mum. However, since I know more about setting up computers, I did all the setting up with this one and thus, this Review/Guide is the result.

Out of the Box:

The laptop got a very shiny top, which immediately you'll find that it is a fingerprint magnet. I brushed it off and joked to myself, "Fingerprint reader, fingerprint magnet...ok...!".

I put the battery in the battery slot at the bottom of the unit and connected the AC/DC adaptor/power supply to the left hand side of the unit and the UK plug to the wall socket. I let the laptop sit for 5 minutes before powering up.

After going through setting up Windows Vista Home Premium and the user account, you finally arrive to the user desktop. First thing I did was to burn the Factory Recovery DVD (2x DVD) and Drivers and Applications DVD (1x DVD) using Acer's own Empowering software.

Next up is I uninstalled 3rd-party bundled applications that will be little or of no use to my Mum's intended use for the notebook/laptop. I did not uninstall anything with Acer on it, even the games.

Appreciating The Features:

After the laptop/notebook had been setup (it took me 1 to 2 hours as I fully customized 2x user accounts), only then you can truly appreciate the features of this machine. Yes, you might have noticed how fast it is compared to other laptops while you do the setting up, but let us talk about hardware.

The fingerprint reader works as you will see it pop up at the upper left hand of the monitor once you swipe your finger through the scanner. I have yet to setup this as I need Mum's fingerprint to do it.

The mouse touchpad as most reviewers say as inconvenient as it is off-center, located near left, is not inconvenient at all.The surface of the touchpad is not satin-smooth like regular laptops. This is a brilliant innovation as your fingers don't stick to the touchpad (if you have sweaty fingers). The little grooves also massages your fingers (they actually tickles), making the touchpad fun to use. You only need the lightest of touch to use the touchpad, and that's how sensitive it is (and I thought it wouldn't be because of the grooves). This hardware is fantastic and brilliant.

The 16" monitor/screen is very bright, clearand crisp, AC or battery powered (dims a little when battery operated, but still very bright and clear). You will have nothing to complain about, like glare and stuff. By today's standards you kind of expect something like this and so saying, you get your money's worth with this hardware.

There is a built-in webcam and microphone on top of the monitor/screen but I don't have any use for them yet and thus untested.However, I would not miss the opportunity to test the built-in speakers and subwoofer on this unit. I put the laptop side-by-side with my own Compaq 2552EA (yes, I know its old). I let the 2 laptops play the same music fileusing the same music software (same versions and all). The Compaq produced its usual loud screaming sound out of the speakers. The Acer however,produced a non-screaming sound, but rather a sound that is full of dimension, one that you come to get used to when watching on a TV with an S-Force Surround system. Very, very, very nice!!!

I wanted to play more music on it but I must resist and move on... I let the Acer play an AVI file using a 3rd-party software (because Acer's own does not have the codecsto play my particular AVI file) to test the graphics more. Waaa!!! Out of the speakers came thundering sounds!!! When they said this thing got a subwoofer they did not tell youit is aproper subwoofer! Again, a testament to how wonderful-sounding this unit is. The video played not so good, with rectangular artifacts - the same ones you see when watching VCD movies. I re-played the AVI using my Compaq and there were no rectangular artifacts. Please note that I did not tinker with Acer's video display or with the NVIDIA settings, playing the file using default settings. Also note that my Compaq is loaded with all multimedia codecs imaginable (well, almost all...) and the Acer is using the default codecs that came with the 3rd-party software I installed in it. I think this Acer will produce fantastic video results when playing Blu-Ray and HD movies, which however cannot be compared to my Compaq because it can't play any of those formats. Besides, Blu-Ray and HD-movies is what this laptop is designed for.

The hard drive and fans of this unit is quiet (extremely quiet compared to my Compaq). The BD-ROM drive is fast by laptop standards.

The nicest thing about this Acer is that it has a feather-touch multimedia control and application buttons. That means you can control the playback of your music using these controls instead, or turn on the integrated Bluetooth by tapping on its button instead of going through Control Panel. The Empowering software also got it's own button so you do not need to look for it's shortcuton your desktop or list of programs. These features are not new to laptops but Acer made the buttons look like they are just light indicators, making them discreet. How fun is it to make a computer genius look dumb when you see him browsing through Control Panel for Bluetooth when all you got to do is tap a button he thought was just an indicator. Ha ha ha! What fun!!! Oh yeah, and for the lazy, this unit also comes with a remote... a laptop that is also a TV and a component system... and you keep saying this thing is expensive???

Conclusion:

Features I like..

If you use Keywords and do Spamming - READ THIS!!!!!!!!

Not worth doing!!! It will only get your listing/s removed : )In my
experience, I have listed something on ebay, written a few keywords in
the title (which relate to the item for sale) and have had the listing
removed. I got charged for the fees for doing it too. It was something
really simple, and didnt deserve to be done. I think a warning before
the listing gets removed would be very fair. Found it very harsh after
spending a huge amount of time listing something for sale, then only
for the listing to be deleted completely off in the ebay!!!!!Not good at all. My advice, be careful what you put in your titles/descriptions!Cant work out the rules on Part Exchange or Swapping either yet?Something
else that annoys a lot of users, I have had, and seen listings get
removed for saying things like "This item is advertised elsewhere" or
"Seller reserves the right to end listing early" (well not before ebay
does it for you!!!)Just a notice so that people are made aware. Take it however you want!!!I just hope that this guide page helps you out and stops your listing from getting deleted completely off in the ebay!

Agility istein beliebter Hundesport.

Tisch

Der Tisch sollte fr groe Hunde die Mae: L/B/H 1m x 1m x 0,60m
haben.Die Flche mit rutschfestem Material versehen sein.Will der Hund

nicht so recht auf den Tisch springen,was durchaus vorkommt,hier
eine bewhrte Methode.Setzt euch auf den Tisch und lockt den Hund so
oft bis

er draufspringt.Es kann sein das der Hund wohl auf den Tisch
springt,jedoch sofort wieder runter.

Buying an Industrial Floor Polisher / Scrubbing Machine

I am writing this short guide to assist in the purchase of used and new Industrial Floor Polishing and Floor Scrubbing machines from Ebay.

In so many instances the sellers of these machines have know idea what they are selling or what their particular machine is suitable for.

In choosing a floor machine the first priority must be to determine the speed of the machine that you require. Machines are manufactured in roughly the following speeds:

Low Speed : Between 120 and 200 rpm

Medium Speed : Between 200 and 270 rpm

High Speed : Between 270 and 400 rpm

Ultra High Speed : Between 900 and 2000 rpm

The low and medium speed machines are idealy suited to scrubbing floors, stripping floors of old polish and carpet shampooing.They will also polish floors but it can take some time!

Medium speed machines can be used for scrubbing and stripping floors, carpet cleaning with a bonnet mop or carpet padand are a little quicker to achieve results when polishing or 'Spray Cleaning' floors.

High speed machines are used mainly for polishing and spray cleaning floors. If you try to scrub with these machines, the water tends to fly around quite a bit and the results can be poor to average.

Ultra high speed machines are only used for polishing or burnishing floors (the friction heats the surface polish and hardens it).

So you have determined what speed or machine best suits you particular aplication, now decide what size of machine you require. The size of the machine is normally given as the diameter of the pad or brush used by the unit ie: from 11" up to 21" (there are some larger machines but these are normally propane powered, are used in hypermarkets/superstoresand are rare on Ebay).

Finally, its good to check what attachements will be supplied with the machine. A solution tanks will be useful when scrubbing and stripping floors and essential when scrubbing carpets.

A pad drive board is normally essential. It fits to the base of the machine with a twist action and is spiked. This unit is used to hold floor pads which are available in many colours to do different jobs ie white pads for buffing, black pads for scrubbing and stripping. As a rough guide to pad selection, the darker the colour, the coarser and the lighter the colour the finer/softer the pad.

If the pad drive is not supplied with the machine, a new replacement could be anything from 50 to 150, and a scrubbing tank between 50 and 100, so beware.

Health and Safety. Industrial floor polishers should idealy be used by persons who have either had some training or at least have been shown how they operate. Most of the main manufacturershave instruction manuals that can be downloaded from their websites,so if you are a novice, I would strongly advise you do this and read thoroughly before attempting to operate the machine.

Finally, used floor machines appear regularly on Ebay and aswe would expect them to have a useful life of between 15 and 25 years, theycan be a great buy.

I hope that this guide will be of assistance.

How to package book

Clean the book.

If the cover is uncoated paper, you may be able to use an eraser to remove some smudges, but be gentle. If the dust jacket or paper cover is glossy, you can take off dirt and stray marks by spraying a little Windex on a paper towel and gently wiping off the cover. Be careful not to get Windex on the pages. Sometimes a slightly damp dishcloth is all you need. Give the book cover a moment to dry out before you wrap it. Lighter fluid can be used to remove stubborn stickers from glossy covers -- soak the sticker for 20 seconds or so and then peel it off -- but keep in mind that lighter fluid is harmful to skin.

Protect it from moisture. When the cover has dried, wrap the book(s) in some kind of plastic in case the box gets stuck under a drain spout at some point along the way. The plastic sleeves in which newspapers are delivered to homes are the right size for most books. Put the book in the bag, fold over the top of the bag, and tape it with packaging tape. Don't over-tape; use just enough to tape down the edges. It's a pain if the recipient has to cut off yards of tape to get to the book. Add whatever notes you want the recipient to get.

To qualify for the Media Mail rate, which is the best shipping rate the U.S. Post Office offers for books, don't add personal letters or non-book items, or you'll have to pay the higher Parcel Post or Priority rates. Mail a card by itself and tell the person that a book is coming separately. (The card almost always arrives first.) If you didn't include a commercial packing slip, write a duplicate address label to include inside the box in case the original label is torn off or becomes otherwise unreadable.

Consider sending a paperback book in a padded envelope. A box is still best, especially if the book is valuable or sentimental to either you or the recipient. However, paperbacks don't have the overhanging covers and exposed corners that hardbacks do, so they travel better in envelopes than do hardcovers. Use a box that is larger than the book. For hardcovers, find a cardboard box that is a little larger than the book. If you don't mind paying the higher Priority Mail rate, you can use the Priority Mail boxes that the post office provides free (it's a service you get for paying more). But you cannot use these boxes and still get the cheaper Media Mail rate. Make a reused box look fresh. If you're reusing a box, you can make it look nice for the recipient by turning it inside out. Just find the spot where the box is glued together. Usually it's just one seam. You can separate that seam with a butter knife, turn the box inside out, and retape that seam. Voil! You have a nice, clean box. If you reuse a box but don't (or can't) turn it inside out, scribble through the old addresses, labels, and markings with a big marker, or put adhesive stickers over them. Tape the bottom. You know how you can fold the flaps of a box together so you don't have to use tape? Don't do this when you're shipping books. Fold the small side flaps in, then close the large flaps so they meet perfectly and tape the seam with packing tape or strapping tape. Leave plenty of overhang for the tape to go up the sides of the box, which makes it stronger. Add packing material. Set the box right-side up, with the top open. Layer the inside bottom of the box with some packaging material -- packing peanuts, air bags, Styrofoam, crumpled plastic grocery bags, or crushed newspaper as a last resort (newspaper is relatively heavy and adds to the shipping cost). Fill in the box. Set the book (wrapped in plastic) on the layer of packing material. Fill in the space around the book with more packing material, then fill the box to the top. You want the book to stay firmly in the middle of the box and not slide around. Can the book still shift? The key is to close the flaps of the box when you finish packing, but don't seal it yet. Shake the box. If you can feel or hear rustling or movement, add more packing material until the box is packed just enough to prevent any movement within. This will protect the book from getting beaten up, no matter what your box goes through. Write the address on the top flap of the box before you tape it closed, or put on an address label. Look up the 9-digit zip code under 'Find a ZIP Code' on the US Postal Service website; this will speed your package along its way. Write in ballpoint pen so the address won't smear if it gets wet, then cover the address (or label) with clear packing tape. Tape the box closed. Tape the top seam with one long piece of tape, then put tape over all the side seams as well to strengthen the box. Take the package to the post office. If you want to see how smart you are, ask the clerk the difference between Media Mail and Priority Mail rates. Wow! If you qualify for Media Mail rates, you saved a lot of money!

How to use eBay

Decide whether to use keyword search or to browse by category. Keyword search is the quickest and simplest way to find a specific item. By browsing by category is useful when searching for the lowest price on a generic item Keyword SearchEnter keyword(s) in search box. Use multiple keywords to help reduce the number of unintended results found. Multiple keywords may hinder chances of finding the item if seller used different keywords in the listing title. Select a category. If you are uncertain which category to choose leave this set to its default (All Categories). Click on 'Search' once a category has been chosen. If no results are found for your keywords eBay will likely suggest keywords to use. If you decide to use eBay's new keywords, click on the new keywords to redirect to a new results page. If eBays suggestions dont match what youre looking for make change the keywords and search again. Browse thru the search results. Click any title of an item to be redirected to the items page. If the item wasnt found determine if: the search needs refining, or if the keywords were too specific. If it is necessary to refine the search (i.e. too many results were found) you can use the side bar to refine the search criteria: Categories; Price: Min-Max; Seller

Category SearchClick on 'Categories' on the top menu bar, this will redirect you to the 'Category' webpage. Select a category. Click on 'More' at the bottom of each sub-category list to see more sub-categories. Select a subcategory. Search through the results page.

Buy an itemOnce you have search through search results and determined that the item you found you which to purchase, its time to make some final considerations and begin bidding to buy the item. Consider the seller of the item. Check that you can/are willing to use the method of payment specified by the seller. Review the product description, shipping details, payment instructions, and return policy. If any of these details might change your mind on bidding, go back to searching for a different listing. Send the seller a question (or questions) regarding the item. By asking questions you have a chance to get to know the seller prior to the transaction. The response time and the quality of the response is a good gauge of how the sale will go. Ask the seller any questions regarding the item or the seller's policies. Decide whether to bid or 'Buy It Now.' The Buy It Now option will skip the bidding process and purchase the item for the specified price. Once bidding has started on an item the Buy It Now option will become unavailable. Consider the time left on the auction when deciding whether to bid or Buy It Now. If an item has just a little time until auction close you will probably win the item cheaper through bidding.

Buy It NowBuy the item. Click on 'Buy It Now. Confirm the purchase on the following page.

Bid on an itemCalculate your maximum bid; be sure to include shipping costs in this equation. eBay allows for you to enter your maximum bid, which eBay will use that bid as a proxy bid (Proxy bidding means that eBay will increase your bid as other eBay users bid on the item until your maximum bid is reached). Enter the maximum bid. Once you have entered your maximum bid click on 'Place Bid.' Confirm the maximum bid. Before confirming check that the number you entered is correct, misplacing a decimal point could be a costly mistake. Once you click on 'Confirm Bid' you have entered into a binding agreement to purchase the item if you win the auction. After clicking Confirm Bid you may receive notice that you have been outbid (this happens immediately through eBays proxy bidding), if this happens return to step 1 and recalculate your maximum bid. If you are the current high bidder, re-evaluate your maximum bid. Through proxy bidding your bid may be dangerously close to the maximum bid you entered, if this is the case it is time to re-evaluate your maximum bid. Monitor the item. eBay provides the option of receiving outbid notices through email or SMS. Watching the item during the final moments of bidding will ensure that you can be the high bidder and win the auction.

Pay for an itemClick on 'Pay Now.' Select method of payment. PayPal Credit card Money order/ cashier's check Personal check

Credit CardEnter the shipping address. eBay will automatically choose the default shipping address, but allows options to add a new address or to change to a shipping address previously used. Enter your credit card information. Confirm payment.

PayPalEnter PayPal information on the eBay payment page. This will automatically transfer the payment details to PayPal. Verify that all information regarding shipment and payment is correct. Verify shipping address. Make payment.

Money order or cashier's checkPurchase money order or cashier's check. These can be purchases at banks, the Post Office, grocery stores and convenience stores. Notify seller of payment made thru eBays messaging service Mark payment made on 'My eBay.

Personal CheckWrite the check. Ensure the seller's name and the monetary amount is correct. Photocopy the check and file the copy. Mail the check. Check that seller and return address are correct. Notify seller of payment made thru eBays messaging service Mark payment made on 'My eBay. Monitor email for shipping notification.

Leave feedbackClick on 'My eBay'. My eBay link located at the top right corner of any eBay page. Click on 'Leave Feedback'. Select transaction(s) on which to leave feedback. EBAY allows you to leave feedback for multiple transactions at a time. Rate the transaction. Positive: Will add one point to the seller's rating. Neutral: Will not affect the seller's rating Negative: Will subtract one point from the seller's rating Create an explanation of the rating. Describe what was good or bad about the transaction. Rate the details of the transaction. Select the star that correlates to each question. Detailed seller ratings are anonymous. Click on 'Leave Feedback' to submit the feedback.

TY Beanie Baby Bears

The Ty beanie babys are really collectable, that have been since they first come out but you find yourself paying over the odds for them, more so on ebay when you add the postage on to the cost of your bear.So one of my favourite things to do is..... search around the charity shops for them! At the most you pay 1.00 - 1.50 depending on the size of them.

Wheat Bags versus Hot Water Bottles

Wheat Bags versus Hot Water Bottles (HWB)

What a treat on a cold winter evening to snuggle up with a wheat bag or a hot water bottle to keep you cosy and comfortable, both providing long lasting heat. Which is more effective or better? Loyal wheat bag users maintain that wheat bags - often called wheat warmers - are safer and more versatile whereas fanatical hot water bottle users protest that the old fashioned HWB is traditional and better. WheatWarmers

Safety

Safety is always the primary concern and it is always paramount that the user follows the manufacturers' guidelines. Wheat bags should come with user instructions giving guidance for the microwave heating time and options for different powers of microwave. Do not buy wheat bags where instructions are not provided. Instructions should also mention that a small cup of water should be placed in the microwave alongside the wheat bag to maintain the water content in the wheat grains and prevent the grains drying out thus reducing the risk of charring or burning. Covers should also be 100% cotton which is fire retardant.

HWBs are filled with boiling water, this can make the bags too hot and if the bag bursts the burns can be very serious. This is a particular risk for the elderly or for people that suffer with arthritis in their hands or wrist joints especially when filling the bottle. Pouring the very hot water through the opening of a HWB requires a steady hand and the risk of burning from the slightest spill is high. Both wheat bags and HWBs should be checked regularly for holes and general signs of wear and tear. Rubber HWB may perish faster than a PVC or synthetic alternative.

Convenience

Both products take the same amount of time to prepare for readiness, two minutes in the microwave for the wheat bag and boiling the kettle and pouring the water for the HWB. Some households do not have a microwave and other alternative methods for heating a wheat bag ar enot economical or convenient. Both products are easily transportable and can be taken on short trips outside the home or even on holiday. People that suffer with Reynaud's syndrome can heat up hand sized wheat bags and take them out which helps to relieve the discomfort just enough to carry out regular tasks.

Versatility

The greatest difference between he two I believe is the versatility of a wheat bag. Traditional HWBs either lie at the bottom of the bed or rest against the body and you need to be sitting down or be still to feel the benefit. In contrast the wheat grains in a wheat bag mould themselves to the contours of the body. The most common shape and style of wheat bag is a rectangle containing loose grainswhich is best used in the same way as the HWB. There are increasing alternatives in variety of shapes designed specifically for the neck, shoulders, back, elbows, hands etc and almost anywhere a hot or cold application may be needed. Some of these can be used without restricting mobility, for example, WheatWarmers make a Back

When Not To Use a Wheat Bag

Wheat bags or wheat warmers - as they are commonly known - are a great way to treat injuries or seek pain relief. They can even be used simply to cosy up with for comforting warmth. There are however a few occasions when it is not a good idea to use a wheat warmer. A reputable manufacturer of wheat bags will always provide detailed safety information with every wheat bag they sell, we like the simple user guide and safety information provided by WheatWarmers

If you have bruising or swelling as a result of an injury in the past 48 hours, avoid using heat therapy. In these circumstances it is best to use a wheat bag that has been kept in the freezer, for your own comfort wrap in a towel before applying to the skin.
Avoid using a wheat bag on open wounds or damaged skin. For example, if you have a hot and itchy rash, it is better to treat the rash first rather than apply a cold wheat bag to sooth the itching. Where there is any doubt it is always best to seek medical advice first.
Care should be taken when giving a wheat warmer to a vulnerable person for example a young child, an elderly person or an ill patient. Whoever is using the wheat bag should have the ability to move the wheat bag of themselves if they become uncomfortable.
Heat therapy should not be used in combination with medicated creams or ointments.
Prolonged use of hot or cold therapy is not advisable. For muscle pain relief, use heat therapy for up to an hour and then take a break, repeat later if necessary. Avoid using the wheatbag continuously as the skin can become irritable and the pain relief will not be as effective.

The most effective way to use a wheat warmer safely is to follow the manufacturer's guidelines. A common complaint is a bad smell. When wheat bags are overheated they will smell of charring or burning, therefore it is very important to follow the heating guide times. Placing a small cup of water occasionally in the microwave when heating the wheat bag maintains the water content in the wheat grains and prevents the grains drying out and burning.

Always test the temperature of the wheat bag before applying to the body. Watch out for general signs of wear and tear to ensure your prodcut is safe to use. A standard wheat bag should last for years if well cared for. A full range of wheat bags is available at WheatWarmers.

Enjoy your wheat bag.

HOW TO VALUE

Post Office Mauritius, 1847 In 1847, the Governor of the Mauritius Island, a British colony located in the Indian Ocean, decided to issue the colony's first postal stamps. A local watchmaker from the capital city of Port Louis was awarded a contract to produce two stamps - a one penny stamp and a two pence stamp. In the course preparing to print the stamps, the watchmaker erroneously engraved the words "Post Office" instead of the correct words "Post Paid" on the stamps. By the time the error was discovered, over 200 copies of the stamps had already been printed and sold. It is estimated that fewer than 30 individual copies of these stamps have survived and they are valued at between $600,000 or more depending on the condition of the particular stamp being sold. In 1993 a cover bearing 2 of these stamps sold for a whopping $3.8 million, the highest price ever paid any philatelic item.

This guide is intended for non-collectors who inherit or receive a stamp collection. You now want to sell it but you don't know what to do next.
First Step - Evaluate The first step is for you to evaluate it before you proceed to selling the stamp collection. The more you do at this stage the more you will get for the stamps. Some of the points you should be looking for are as follows:
Indicators for high value: 1 - Do you know if a large amount of cash was put into gathering the stamps? (Many collector do not admit how much they spend and it has been known for a valuable collection to be thrown out because the spouse always said that little or no money was being spent on the stamps.) 2 - Does it appear that a large amount of effort went went into organising the collection? Are the stamps all neatly mounted and carefully written up on pages? The more effort that has been put into a collection the more likely it will have high value. 3 - Does the collection contain any "philatelic literature"? All serious collectors always have some literature as an aid to their collection. This literature can also be valuable and is best sold in the philatelic market. 4 - Does the collection contain covers (envelopes with stamps on them which have gone through the post) particularly of old stamps in good condition? Covers are invariably more valuable than the actual stamps on them. NEVER remove the stamps from these envelopes and do not remove the contents of these envelopes either. 5 - What is the condition of the stamps? Does it look as if only the best copies have been selected for the collection? The difference in value of a damaged stamp and a best quality can be a hundredfold or even more. 6 - Is the collection specialised or of a single country? A specialised single country collection will often have more valuable stamps than a whole world collection. 7 - What period are the stamps from? The majority of recent stamps have little or no value. 8 - What is the face value of the stamps? The collection needs to have the high face value stamps as well as the low ones. It is the high face value stamps which most often are the most valuable.
Indicators for low value 1 - The collection was accumulated with little or no money being spent. 2 - The collection contain many untidy, dog-eared, damaged, heavily postmarked stamps. 3 - The collection is an accumulation of stamps from the whole world. 4 - The collection lacks high face value stamps. 5 - Most of the stamps appear to be recent with pretty pictures. 6 - USA mint stamps since about 1935 - most of these have no real value, the majority can be used for postage - that is all they are worth. 7 - The collection contains quantities of the same stamp. 8 - Elvis stamps - if they are unused they are worth more being used for postage.
Next Step - Decide The next step is to decide how to sell them - there are a number of options for selling a stamp collection:
SELLING ON THE INTERNETIf you search around the internet there are a number sites where you could do this, you could even do a site yourself. Perhaps the best known site for selling stamps is eBay. Another great site is Delcampe which is for collectibles only with a specialised site for stamps.These site are great for selling stamps and can works well for someone who knows what they are selling, as it is important to identify items correctly and describe them correctly to get the best possible price.
SELLING TO A STAMP DEALERThere are numerous dealers around the world and the majority of them are prepared to do an appraisal and make an offer for any reasonable collection. You should be able to find a stamp dealer in your local yellow pages.
SELLING AT AN AUCTIONThere are many auction houses around the world who will sell, on your behalf, any reasonable collection. See our lists of Stamp Auction Houses. Generally speaking it is best to sell in the country you are living in. For a very valuable collection it sometimes pays to go to a major auction house in London, New York or Zurich Stamp Auctioneers in the GB Stamp Auctioneers in the USA Stamp Auctioneers Rest of the World
SELLING THROUGH A STAMP CLUBIf the person who you got the collection from had belonged to a stamp club or a philatelic society, (particularly if it was a specialist society), it may be worth contacting them. They may be able to help you to sell the collection amongst its members.

Fire Baskets - A Buying Guide

There is little doubt that a roaring fire on a winter's evening in the garden brings a certain warmth to the soul.

A fire basket in your garden will bring colour and warmth to the patio, deck or lawn. They can, of course, be used year round for your outdoor events, barbecues and parties.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR?Good construction is important. A good fire basket will be made from steel and coated with high temperature paint. Each point should be spot welded or riveted. Underneath the fire basket, expect to find a tray to catch the ash.

WILL THEY LAST?Due to the nature of construction, you can expect some surface rust over time. Simply sand down the rusty areas and spray with suitable high temperature paint to bring your fire basket back to perfect condition.

WHAT CAN WE BURN?Fire baskets work best with wooden logs.

IS IT ALSO A BARBECUE?Many fire baskets will come with a grill to fit over the top of the basket. That way, you have dual use from your purchase as a fire basket and as a barbeque. Not all baskets are designed to use a grill, so select carefully to find the one which suits your needs.

ANYTHING ELSE?You will find a range of fire baskets available from sellers on eBay, including us, so take a look.

Google AdSense - A Massive and Passive Income?

You may have seen "sponsored by Gooooogle" on many websites that
you've looked at. This is Google AdSense - a simple way for website
owners to display Google Ads on their website and earn money for each
advert clicked on. Ads are targetted to the content of the page they
are displayed on, so visitors to your page are more likely to want to
follow those adverts. You can also use Google Search linked into
Adsense on your site, so when a visitor carries out a search,
search-related ads are also shown.

Obviously the best way to make money from AdSense is to have a site
with lots of content. Free reprint article directories are a fantastic
source of fresh content for your website, and simple to use. Just a
few articles a week soon builds up into a huge targetted-content
website. Alternatively, why not purchase a turnkey article directory website that automatically builds it's own content?

Advantages:
(1) Adverts are targetted to each page so you know the adverts will be related to your content.
(2) You make money per advert clicked on.
(3) Anyone with a website of "reasonable content" can join the AdSense Program.
(4) Google gives you the code and plenty of customisation options (ad
sizes and colours), making it really easy to put AdSense on your
website.
(5) Free to generate new content - just leave the resource boxes hyperlinked and intact.

Disadvantages:

(1) You can only prevent adverts from specific websites from being
displayed - not prevent a category from showing. If you want to
eliminate competitors, or have a medical advice site, manually removing
each competitor or "miracle cure" website can be a time-consuming and
ongoing problem.

(2) Do not get involved in click fraud - once Google has identified you
as a perpetrator, you will never be a friend of Google again!

What Exactly Is Swarovski Crystal?

What is Swarovski Crystal?

Many people misunderstand that the raw material used in the manufacture of Swarovski crystal objects occurs naturally, like rock crystal. Swarovski Crystal is not a natural crystal, it is man made at the factory in Wattens using basic formulae perfected by Daniel Swarovski and his three sons. In this section, we will tell you more facts about Swarovski Crystal Beads and answer a number of questions frequently asked.

Why is Crystal more expensive than glass?

Higher density and purity.Crystal quality is dependent on the production method and the processing of the raw material. Both factors play a major role in determining its brilliance and the measure of its value.

What distinguishes Swarovski products from imitations and those made by other manufacturers?

The factor that sets Swarovski crystal products apart is -and always has been - the superior quality of the cutting and polishing. In recent years,crucial role has also been played by exceptionally creative in - house and freelance designers.

Why there is so many different Swarovski Logo?

IS EBAY'S FEEDBACK SYSTEM FAIR TO SELLERS - PLEASE VOTE

PLEASE VOTE YES, AS THIS MIGHT GET NOTICED AND HELP SELLERS AND BUYERS ALIKE!

I have been a Power-Seller on and off for the past 8 years, and now with the Power-Seller status being closed-down I have to ask - is the new feedback system fair to sellers? As a seller I try extremely hard to satisfy my customers demands, and I have always strived to acheive 5* star DSR's for all my feedback, but that was almost impossible to acheive given what I sell - retro video-games. As the very nature of what I sell is contraversial, some buyers will think a mint game is not mint unless perfect (mint is described/defined as being used but with no noticable wear)., others think a used and good condition game should be mint, and then some will think a used and good conditioned game is mint - so it's a very opinionated business selling retro video-games. Also, if a competitor decides they do not like the competition they get from me, there is nothing to stop them from buying from me and marking me down just to undermine my feedback and business. And with the new TOP RATED (Power-Seller) status, all you need to get is one low score of a 1 or a 2 in your DSR's in every 200 UK-ONLY scores, and you lose the TOP RATED status and your discount. At the moment I get awarded Silver-Power-Seller staus with a 25% discount, and under the new system, I do not. Also, they do not count International sales, even though at leasthalf of my business is International - these will not count! I strongly believe this system is totally unfair and undermines what auction sites are all-about, as all this will do is undermine sellers further (which eBay's new regime has already been doing), and severely limit the choice to buyers. As what seller apart from the part-time sellers are going to want to sell on eBay, if they are treated unfairly from the outset.UK sellersalready have to pay 13.5% in eBay and PayPal fees, plus we have to pay costs for listings which is free to non business sellers! And the feedback system already discriminates against sellers who cannot leave honest and fair feedback, as all a seller can choose is Positive or nothing....What choice is that! So if I get a bad buyer, all I can do is to leave a positive feedback and hope someone notices my comment,and even worse,if I get a bad buyer with private feedback no one will even see my comments left for them as it is hidden-and the buyer can retaliate by leaving me a negative with lies about the service! And negatives do catch the attention of potential buyers, and this demorilizes good sellers like me and undermines the integroty of the feedback system. And that was bad enough for us sellers, but now with the new system to start very soon it has got a whole lot worse! As at least under the previous system I got a 25% discount and I was rated as a Silver-Power-Seller, but now I will not even get that. So my potential buyers will see me as just average, and as I get no discount I cannot pass this saving onto my customers - so the peoplewho willlose out in the long-run will be my customers, and the whole point of this system is to help the customers. I thought the previous system to be totally unfair, and so far I have not found one other retro video-games seller who thought it was fair, and now under this new regime it has got a whole lot worse! I still believe that this new system has been introduced purely as a cost cutting excercise, as now the vast majority of sellers like me will not get their discount and that is going to save eBay a fortune inlost revenue(discounts). But what they forget is that many sellers will just give-up and move elsewhere, or they may even decide to change their status from business-seller to private-sellers to save costs. Surely it should be a level-playing-field for all, buyers and sellers alike! As for buyers to benefit, the sellers must be able to make some profit from all their hard work, and be able to leave an honest appraisal of the transaction! And so after 8 years of loyal service to eBay and all my many 1000's of happy and satisfied customers, even I am seriously considering quitting eBay or at least down-sizing dramaticly for the future due to eBay's lack of support tothe seller. And soI strongly recommend everyone (buyers and sellers alike) to write into eBay compalining at the unfair treatment of sellers, and how this will affect and limit the buyers choice - which in turn will affect the price they pay for the item they want, as prices will enevitably rise due to a lack of choice.

To conclude, I wish to say that feedback should be stopped completely or reverted back to the original early format where buyers and sellers could choose to leave an honest appraisal of the sale, as if not eBay are heading towards disaster and will enevitabley become another clone of the alreadyterrible Amazon site - which I might add I never use at as it is so appauling! EBay used to be a great place for all-comers, and in the past few years it has gone down-hill rapidly, and is now fast moving away from free-selection and bargains to a more forced selection and price fixing....Just like Amazon or the super-markets have done, as if you eliminate freedom of choice, you eliminate fair prices. And as with Amazon and the super-markets, we no longer have a choice or a fair price - we belive we do, but we just have to choose and pay for what's on offer, and that's only good whilst there's competition. But the way things are with Amazon andthe super-markets, choice is only as good as what's available and that's disapearing fast. We think we have a choice, when in actual fact we are limited to what's available, like with the super-markets near us, and where I live in rural North Cornwall, you are severely limited when it comes to choice and what you have to pay. So lets not let this great market-place go the same way as the super-markets or Amazon, as once it has there will be no way to reverse it - other than to go elsewhere! And at the moment there is very little choice.

SO PLEASE VOTE A YES FOR THIS GUIDE, AND WHO KNOW'S, JUST MAYBE EBAY MIGHT CHANGE TACT AND AVOID THE IMPENDING DISASTER THAT AWAITS IT - THE CHOICE IS YOURS! AS A YES VOTE MIGHT MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. AND I DO BELIEVE IN PEOPLE-POWER MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

Thanks for reading my guide, and I do hope that consumers can make a difference.....so vote YESnow, and get all your friends and family to vote YES as well. As without the likes of honest and decent traders like me, eBay will suffer and so will the consumer. Take care, and have a great life :)

Emma Bridgewater (Pottery Cafe) - Jersey based seller

now you see her, now you don't, oh, ...she's back but gone in 24 hours...now we see her again... (how long for this time I wonder?)As a follow-on from my 1st review, I see that the buyer who originally 'turned me over', is now selling some Bridgewater items. One of those items is a pasta bowl, decorated by me at the Bridgewater pottery cafe in Stoke in 2008. That, in itself is fine, so long as the listing indicates that it was decorated in the pottery cafe

Why do I need an Audio/MIDI Sequencer?

The audio/MIDI sequencer (a.k.a. "recording software", "audio/MIDI studio", "DAW Digital Audio Workstation" or "audio host") is the control center for modern music production. It offers a practically unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks for recording or arranging sounds and sequences, numerous editing tools, a "virtual" mixing desk and integrated effects.

Audio/MIDI sequencers are available from Steinberg, Emagic, Cakewalk, MOTU, Digidesign and many others.

Multitrack-hard disk recording

Instruments can be recorded directly through the inputs on your sound card. Hard disk recording replaces the earlier tape machines. Limitless editing of recorded material is possible.

Import audio data

Instead of recording on your hard disk you can also import finished audio samples (from sample CD-ROMS for instance), like whole bass lines or keyboard phrases.

MIDI Sequencing

a) Integration of software instruments: Software instruments (e.g. from Native Instruments) can be opened and played as a plug-in, the MIDI (or audio) data can be recorded and edited. The so called "automation" makes it possible to record the movements of all software instruments knobs and faders while playing.

b) External MIDI instruments (like hardware synthesizers) can be integrated and controlled remotely with your sequencer.

Arrange and Edit

The recorded MIDI and audio tracks can be rearranged, copied, shortened and edited in many ways, so that you can come to a complete song arrangement.

Effects

Many sequencers have integrated effects like hall, EQ, delay and compression. NI effect plug-ins (e.g. VOKATOR, NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY, REAKTOR) can be plugged in as well. Individual tracks or the entire signal can be processed with effects.

Mixing

A virtual mixing board regulates the volume relationship and the stereo pan between tracks. Level and pan changes can be recorded (automation), so that for example you could blend a specific track in and out.

Mix down ("audio export" or "bouncing").

A finished song with many tracks can be exported as stereo audio data (WAV or AIFF format), i.e. written to the hard disk. This stereo audio data (your songs) can be burned directly to a CD with a burning program. Your first CD is finished.

Notation

Some sequencers also allow direct note input, and the presentation of the recorded MIDI data as notes in a number of different notation types.

Dedicated Notation software is available from Finale and Sibelius.

Classic Messerschmitt KR Micro Car 1953

Messerschmitt KR

This is one of many illustrated classic car guides I've created for the community. I hope you enjoy it. If youwish to find out more about the classicbubble and microcar art featured in this guide please click here.

The Messerschmitt is probably the best known microcar, and was designed by Fritz Fend, technical officer of the famous aircraft company. Introduced in 1953, its unique welded steel structure was chassis-less, and had handle-bar steering and twist-grip throttle, which powered a 9hp 4-gear transmission. Over 20,000 KR175's were produced, with further refinement on the more powerful KR200. A variety of cabriolet soft-tops and Plexiglass dome canopies lifted for access to the two-seat tandem cockpit.

How to Look After Yourself - Naturally

How to Look After Yourself - Naturally

How many paracetamol do you take a week? Do you take just one tablet? Maybe two? I surprised myself some years ago when I tried to purchasethree packets of paracetamol at my local chemist and was refused, the limit was two packets. I explained that I did not take moe than the recommended dose - I just needed one packet for work, one for home and one for my handbag - I was still refused.

I never asked myself why I needed such ready access to paracetamol.

It was a long time before I recognised a pattern that had formed over many many months. I had a severe headache at least once a day and needed at least one if not two paracetamol tablets to keep going through to the end of the day.

There are side effects to simple paracetamol, not many, but taken consistently over time I wondered what damage I had done to my body? Now when I have a headache the first step I take is to have a glass of water and I'll wait for at least ten minutes before seeking alternative pain relief. Better yet, if I knowI'm going into a stressful situation, I put a drop of my Stress Buster aromatherapy oil onto my wrists beforehand to relax myself.

There are many natural, non invasive drug free options as a first line of treatment. Prevention is always better than cure, however, if you need a cure and are willing to experiment, why not try an alternative to pharmaceuticals?

Simple Solutions

In the case of an injury the kitchen is a gret place to start. Simple everyday items can be used such as ice cubes or a bag of frozen peas when applied to an inflamed area can prevent further swelling. Alternatively a wheat bag kept in the freezer can be used over and over again without defrosting your food. Wheat bags are simple cotton bags filled with wheat grains, wheat grains have a unique cellular structure that allows them to absorb a temperature quickly and release it slowly. They are flexible and comfortable to use and inexpensive. Also known as wheat warmers they can also be used to treat conditions using heat. Simply heat in the microwave for two minutes and then apply to any muscle pain or ache. For conditions such as back ache, neck pain or even ailments such as arthritis or fibromyalgia a wheat bag is only a treatment, meaning it can relieve pain temporarily, it is not a cure but may offer the sufferer sufficient relief to manage their pain.

Conclusion

Common sense is the key to using alternative remedies well and making them work for you. If you are unsure why you are not well or what has caused you to feel ill then the first step is to consult a medical professional, once you have received advice you are in a position to mkae an informed decision about your treatment. Wheat bags or wheat warmers are only one of many option available and there are numerous websites specialising in natural and alternative remedies.

Wishing you good health.

Top 5 Wholesale Sources To Enable Huge Profits On eBay

Earning a 6 figure income from retail and eBay means discovering wholesale and dropship suppliers that are both competitive and legitimate. Those traders who have unlocked this simple but essential formula are today cashing in hundreds of thousands of pounds in profits every year.Finding legitimate sources is however very time consuming, and often very risky, for any business. One of the mistakes most new retailers and eBayers make is to sign up for unverified wholesale directories, without knowing that their wholesalers can cost them heavy losses. Imagine ordering goods only to find that they will never arrive or that the merchandise is fake and therefore unsellable.Only Genuine wholesale directories reveal those verified sources that skyrocket businesses and profits. The key is to know which wholesale directories you can trust.I have researched and tested all the most popular wholesalers and drop shippers directories available online. Whether you are starting up, are in business for the short or long term, on a full or part time basis, the following directories will offer you the fastest and safest route to success. I have picked only the very best, and rated them 1 to 5:1. eSourcesThe Internet's largest directory of verified wholesalers and dropshippers. With over 2,000 worldwide dropshippers and a staggering 19,000 UK wholesale sources, Esources is the only UK directory that allows you to browse and search before you become a member.Undoubtedly the best option available today, both for number of sources and reliability of information, I found exclusive contacts, excellent profit margins, and new wholesale and dropship sources added daily.I received regular updates and special offers by email, and found genuine suppliers throughout. Additionally my buy requests were forwarded automatically to relevant wholesalers, who contacted me directly with their quotes.If you are looking for reliable wholesalers and dropshippers, as well as great profit margins, this directory is invaluable, it's very user friendly and packed with thousands of profitable sources.

How to Use the eBay Guides Rich Text Editor

Using the eBay Guides Rich Text Editor is not easy to use, so here are
some tips and tricks on how to successfully use the editor to complete
the guide creation process and create the most effective guide content.

Key points to remember when using the eBay Guide Rich Text Editor

You must create Guide content in the Rich Text
Editor (RTE) or copy in content from a text editor like Notepad.Cutting and pasting in content from programs like
Microsoft Word will cause you to get an error. Cutting and
pasting content within the Guide RTE does work.Standard HTML tags will not work in the Guides RTE.In order to add Bold, Italics, Left Justify,
Center Justify, Right Justify, add bullet points or numbered lists,
indenting the text, adding pictures or links you must use the controls
at the top of the Guide RTE

There is a 20,000 character limit for guide
content. This includes URL links and picture file names that are
not visible to guide readers.

To create nice visual section breaks like the orange bar like this...

Type in your text with the dropdown at the top of the text entry field
"Text: [Normal]" and then put your cursor somewhere in that line and
change the dropdown menu from "Normal" to "Heading 1". This will
make the text in the RTE look like the Times New Roman Font, Font size
24. This is ok! This text will look correct once you publish your
guide. (You can preview this by clicking on the "Preview" button at the
bottom of the page.)

The Five Things You Must Do Before Buying on Ebay

The Five Things You Must Do Before Buying on Ebay

As a consumer, you will find many great deals on items that you
want and need through eBay auctions. Many people visit eBay on a
daily basis looking for auctions for items that they may be
interested in simply because eBay auctions are so much fun!

However, before you start buying on eBay, there are some steps
that you need to take. Here are five things you must do before
buying on eBay.

1. You can't buy anything without registering first.

Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. You will be
asked for credit card information, and this is required before
you will be able to bid on auctions. Your email address must be
confirmed before your account will become active, so make sure
that you use the correct email address.

You will be given the option to sign up for a Paypal account, if
you don't already have one, and you should strongly consider
doing so. Signing up with Paypal is free, and many auctions will
require you to have a Paypal account.

2. Once you have completed the registration process, you are
ready to start bidding on auctions.

However, don't jump in right away. Navigate around the site a
bit, and get a feel for things first. Some unscrupulous sellers
try to take advantage of new eBay users, and you must be wary of
them.

Start by searching for the items that you are interested in.
Using the category list, click on the categories that you feel
that you are interested in, and start looking at the open
auctions in those categories. You should find the items that you
are looking for quite easily.

3. Once you have found items that you want to bid on add the
auction to your favorites but don't place your bid just yet.

Instead, go find old auctions for similar items. See how much
those items sold for so that you know how high to bid. Research
the item as best as you can. Determine what the item would cost
if it were brand new, and what you should bid now on the used
item, in the condition that it is in.

4. Learn more about the seller.

Remember, not everyone is honest. Avoid buying from sellers who
have low reputations. The reputation system at eBay is an
important tool for buyers. This will enable you to determine
whether or not you can trust the person that you are buying from.

Read their feedback page. Read the seller's 'About Me' page. Get
to know who you are dealing with a little bit better by
communicating with the seller about the auction.

5. Place your bid.

Once you know what item you want and how much you should bid on
it, you are ready to place your bid.

There are two ways you can do this. Some sellers take bids on
their auctions, with the item going to the highest bidder. Others
choose to use the 'Buy Now' feature, which means that they have a
set reserve price that you must meet but you are not in
competition with other bidders. This is a typical option that
sellers use when they have multiple identical items to sell, or
when they sell brand new items on eBay using drop shippers.

If you are entering into an open live auction where bids are
placed and the highest bidder wins you will need to watch the
auction closely to ensure that you keep raising your bid to win
the item. Just make sure that you don't end up winning by paying
way too much unless it is a unique item that won't be found
elsewhere!

How to make a profit buying/selling clothing.

Well first of all let metell you a little bit about me, i grew upwith bargain hunting, from a young age i was taken round carboots/charity shops/jumble salesand quickly grew a keen eyefor a bargain!!!Ive also been interested in fashion since my teenage years,so imvery knowledgeable about whats 'in' and what's 'so last year-darling'. I beleive having a sense of style is a must for any savvy girl.

I first started out selling on ebay just downsizing my own wardrobe and things around the house and business has just grown from there. I have only been an active seller for just under two years, but boy have i come far. I was diagnosed with M.E. and Fibromyalgia 5 years ago and had to give upmy main job, since my health has improved, buying and selling on ebay has become one of my main hobbies and also a 2nd income.

80% of my sales are ladies clothing, i sell vintage as well as modern/high-street fashion labels and designer/couture clothing (when i can get my hands on it)!!!

The main percentage of my items have been sourced through charity shops/carboots/jumbles sales and hopefullyI can give yousome advice and helpful tips on how to be succesful in making a profit on ebay.

Charity Shops:-1sale rails are an excellent source, its not much to put down on 1 item and you can keep your listing at a reasonable start price, that way there isn't much risk in your sale. If buying amore expensiveitem in a charityshop stick too well knowndesigner or high-end high-street labels thatare likely tomake you aprofit. Labels such as Fat Face, White Stuff, Jack Wills, Boden, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, River Islandstand to make a bit of profit, also designer labels such asFendi, Armani, Chloe, Vivenne Westwood,All Saints,Paule Ka etc

Carboots:- Most clothingat carbootsis reasonabley priced, you can expect to pay anywhere between 0.50-3.00 on an item, which if in good condition is worth taking a risk on. Always be prepared to haggle with aseller if you feel they are charging too much,carbootsellers expect this and it is not un-common. They might not be willing to come down in their prices, but it is worthasking, and you can just walk away if not.

Those clothes on the floor/or stuffed in binliners- might look like a load of old tack but you will be amazed at what you can find, scouring through what looked like a massive pile of junk last year i found two 'All Saints' items and two designer suits, and lots more, they charged just 0.50p per item.

Jumbles Sales:- A great source for finding vintage clothing!!! You really do have to be prepared to stand in a quewe for a while if you want to get your hands on the good stuff. I quite often turn up 1 hour before, tedious but worth it. Remember to wrap up warm in colder months!!! Also get used to a lot of pushing,shoving and snatching, not many people go to jumble salespurelyfor selling on ebay, but they do like a bargain.I often take mypartner to help me atjumble sales, that way i can pass him stuff to hold onto whilst i keep my hands free.

Vintage/Antique Fairs/Sales in the paper:- keep your eye outfor these, well worth a look round to give you ideas and meet sellers in the area, you may not come away with anything as these sales tend to be quite pricey, but they do sometimes have sale rails which are always worth a look.

Also keep your eye out in your local paper for items for sale, you may find somebody is selling a batch of clothing for a reasonable amount of money, which is also worth looking into.

If you have something designer or good quality or even new with tags, its worth making use of ebay's extra selling tools, such as sub-titles, border's, bold, highlighting, any of these can really increase interest in your items and help them to stand out better, especially if the item is a one off. Also if you know the original price of an item, add a buy-it-now price to your listing that ise.g. 5.00pounds cheaper than theoriginal price, you never now somebody might just want-it-now!!!

Try to be as informative as possible with your listings, that way you cut down the amount of questions being asked about your items. Make sure you give good descriptions and take good quality pictures andtry to makeuse ofall the space given to you in the title. Remember people come accross your items by typing in keywords!!! Keep your eye out for what's hot at the moment in ebay sales!!! Get fashion conscious. I subscribe to Look magazine whichcan help me a lot to know what's in, alsoadd shops like Topshop

An eBay Moment Changed My Life

I have never been, what used to be called , house proud. Mine has not been the life of sparkling ornaments. No mine was the life that looked like the second garage, the second hand furniture store life.
Now, as had happened every so many years in my life it, was re-organise day. A day of cleansing madness where every thing in the house has to move at least 5 times before it re-settled into its new resting place for the next life cycle.
As I knelt sitting on my heels amongst, empty product packaging; boxes that had originally been kept incase it went wrong and it had to be taken back. "You know they wont take it unless it's got its box" said the urban lore.
I wondered at what point in my life I had turned into this mad ageing super bag-lady. holding on to stuff from the culdsack's in my life path. The mini trampoline that I had put before my desk. The idea being that I could use it to exercise while I worked at my writing. It was to have been the panacea for my sedentary occupation. Ultimately I had to put the trampoline away, I had found out what anyone else could have told me in a moment, you can't type while bouncing up and down. I felt that there was a message in there for me somewhere but I still hadn't fathomed it.

It was whilst looking at the product packaging of yester year and also wondering what to do with a pile of vaguely familiar pile of products. Things that I'd brought new in one fit of enthusiasm or another things that were the lynch pin of yet another crazy pre-doomed scheme to change my life. To turn me all about till I was the sort of human that every else seemed to be, needless to say this hasn't happened yet. I stubbornly remained the sort of human that I am The sort that would have been a worry and a trial to any mother. Yet mine bore it all with unflinching faith that one day I would find my calling and ride my ship into my niche.
As I sorted through the piles of stuff that Findlay's work had unearthed, I counted. I counted crazy schemes or evidence of them both in the flotsam before me as well as in my memories. What was here before and about me represented about a 5th of my life to date and in that meagre percent was 8.5 crazy ideas that had cost at least 2000.00 each some had cost a lot more. This sea of mixed stuff represented the more tempered and moderate 5th of my life to date. OMG this was from after the Diaspora, the sensible bit of my life. I wanted to throw back my head and laugh like a mule but some sense of the inappropriateness of this held me back. In my younger days there had been some failures that were grand in scale

Sony Vaio Laptop Review

Not long ago, I purchased the Sony Vaio FS315E, and I'm very impressed withit's outcome.

Pros:

Great if you want a portable laptop; it is slim, lightweight, small and ideal if you wish to use wireless internet. Built for everyday simple use, it includes the neccessities such as the Microsoft Workspackage that isalready built into its system and all the internet access facilities you could need.

Cons:

This laptop isn't the greatest choice if you wish to play high demanding games on it such as modern, fast moving racing games. That's about it really.

~~~
Overall, this laptop is one of the most popular of choices in the notebook range. I would definatly recommend it if you need to manage your eBay account every once in a while throughout the day!
Flash Against Hard Drive-The War Of Mp3-A Guide
After numerous searches for faulty items on eBay.co.uk leads to the conclusion that loads of fairly new hard drive based mp3's become broken due to missuse! A guide to stop this happening to YOU:
Mp3 is definetly the way to go as these tiny players hold much more than cds or tapes, but there is certain issues you need to be aware of, (most of which are never included in the manual!)
The main problems with the high desireable gadgets it that they contain a tiny hard drive, when you listen to you favourite tunes the hard disk spins up and reads the data into the mp3's RAM, this is a solid chip that contains no moving parts and therfore cannot be damaged by shaking or constant movement.
A Hard Drive Mp3 can be determined by the size of the memory mostly anything (apart from the nano) above 1Gb is normally hard drive based, but a quick internet search will normally reveal all, as flash based mp3's are becoming bigger and bigger.
A Flash based mp3 is usually bellow 1GB in memory size. These are normally very small and can be worn around the neck.
After shaking mosthard drive based mp3'sbecome useless, The microscopic readers inside the hard drive become out of line therefore rendering them useless to read data from the of the hard drive. Well you may say that this is replaced under warranty but this is only for a year and after that you are on your own!
The only way to make sure you prised new gadget doesnt die a hard drive death is to protect it by not moving it around to much when the hard drive it running, this can be determined by a small whirring noise from inside.(this indicates the hard drive moving)
I have had 3hard disk based mp3'snone of these have ever had a problem. Due to them not being used in a shakey enviroment.
When i want to listen to mytuneswhile movingi used a cheap flash based mp3's these can nopw be bought verycheaply and come in sizes up to 1gb, thenewipod nano now uses flash memory upto 4GB which means the ipod nano is very hard to damage!
So if you want tolisten to your mp3's in astill position or maybe in the car, a harddrive based mp3 is for you but if you want to jog or run with your music a flash based mp3 is not only cheaper but very very strong.
Hope this guide helps to a much for friendly less costing mp3 life.
Burmese lacquer
Burmese lacquer
Visitors to my shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Naga-Store will
find many excellent examples of Burmese lacquerware made at workshops
in Bagan, the main centre of lacquer design and production in Burma.
Lacquer is tree sap, which sets as a natural flexible plastic resistant
to water, heat and insect damage. It can be applied to a wide variety
of surfaces such as wood, leather, metal and palm-leaf, but it is most
frequently used on split, coiled or woven bamboo and sometimes teak. Virtually all
of the pieces in my shop fall into the last category. As well as being
used in its liquid form as varnish, glue or ink, the sap can be mixed
with ash or sawdust to create a putty or thayo which can be sculpted.
Lacquerware production
Many of the lacquer production processes used today are the same as
those recorded 170 years ago. Lacquer vessels are made by hand, and can
undergo many different processes during production. Depending on the
intricacy of the decoration, it can take three to four months to
complete a small vessel while larger pieces can take over a year. No
lacquer piece is the product of a single hand, but is the result of
specialists in different techniques working together.
Lacquer vessels are not solid lacquer, but have wood, bamboo or
horsehair base coated with layers of thayo putty and liquid lacquer to
create their characteristic smooth surface. The Burmese word yun means both lacquer and a decorative engraving technique. Although gilding and relief decoration are also used, yun is the most common technique used on lacquerware and most of the items I sell conform to this method of production.
Yun
Yun deocration is made up of a
series or tiny lines engraved on the surface of the lacquer object,
which are then filled with coloured lacquer. The most common colours
for yun designs are red,
green, yellow and orange on red or black backgrounds. The majority of
the engraving is done free hand. There are no pattern books, nor is it
neccessary for the design to be measured out first, it is all arranged
by eye. The decoration of a single object requires thousands of
engraved lines with the design for the red, yellow, orange or green
engraved, coloured and finally dried seperately. The designer often
undertakes the engraving of the more complicated elements, while young
understudies fuill in much of the detail.
Uses of lacquer
The properties of lacquer, both as a protective sealant and as a medium
for decoration, mean that the opportunities for its use are practically
limitless. In the average Burmese household, it was particularly
useful for making vessels used for the storage, preparartion and
consumption of rice such as storage pails, steamers, serving trays,
food stands, and cooked rice containers. Lacquered vessels were also
used for other foodstuffs, including liquids such as oils. The main
meal may have been accompanied with water served from a carafe,
preceded by snacks served from a lahpet tray and perhaps after the meal
a digestive from the betel box. All of these items were made of
lacquered basketry, either woven or coiled.
Modern lacquer work
The production of lacquer
vessels continues in modern day Burma or Myanmar. The main centre for
production is Bagan in central Burma, historic capital of ancient
Burma, and where I buy all my lacquerware from. The government started
a school in the 1920's and today there are dozens of different
workshops producing some standard designs but many specialising in the
production of certain specialities. Bagan also specialises in the
intricate yun technique
described earlier. Some of the larger items in my shop took many months
to produce and pieces can also be made by commission, which I can
arrange if you have a particular item in mind.
CLINIQUE PRODUCT FRESH
DARK GREY OR LIGHT GREY??
On several occasions I have often turned to Ebay in order to purchase Clinique Male Skincare Products - and sadly I cannot belive my eyes. I am a good ebayer seller and always purchase my products from a UK licensed Pharmaceutical Wholesaler therefore, I am usually quite good at spotting what is a good or a bad product. Sadly with Clinique products I dont always get them at a good price and they are often not in stock therefore this is the only reason I would generally turn to Ebay to try and the get the product I need at a good price. After all there are many many great sellers trying to earn an honest living as am I. Fortunately, when I started my business I investigated importing goods from the States and although many sellers are getting there goods in from there I can only assume that they are not paying too much attention to the Rules and Regulations set out by the Department of Trade and Industry. Basically any person who sources products from anywhere outside the Eurpean Union must employ a pharmacist to test each a product from each batch before selling it. If they dont and they are investigated and found to be guilty of non testing will be fined upto 50,000 and possible imprisonment. The penalties are very high due to the fact that most sellers dont have personal insurance if for instance a bad batch of skincar scars a customers skin or even worse - causes blindness or even a fatality. I spoke to the DTI about this and they are in the process of looking at each individual shop on Ebay. As you can imagine this is a massive drive that they are undertaking and I such they have been successful thus far in prosecutions. Anyway I have gone off the beaten track slightly so back to my point. Anyone purchasing Clinique Male Skincare needs to check to see the colour of the bottle or packaging. If it is a charcoal grey colour then you can be fairly certain that it is a good safe product. Ask the seller where the product has been sourced from - if they say outside the EU then ask them if they can verify the testing process. Anyone with nothing to hide will tell you. If the packaging etc is a light grey in colour then the product is old (Clinique stopped producing the light grey brand about 3 years ago so you can imagine how old the product is). I am informed by Clinique that the product was removed from all of their respectable stockists at that time and basically was sold off to wholesalers. These are the people who the sellers will be buying from in the States. They get tons of the it for really cheap prices. Clinque does not have a best before date only an individual code which is not for customers to understand.SOREMEMBER DARK GREY IS FRESH - LIGHT GREYIS BAD!!!!!
Graco Century Pushchair Cheap but Useless!!!
Whilst pregnant with my last child who is now 4 months old i had to find a pushchair/pram which would fit in my filled zafira - not much of a boot. I fancied a travel system after having the tradition style pram with my first two followed by the travel system for the next two. However knowing the size of them i was determined to find a compact and cheap one. Thats when i came across the Graco Century Travel System it was cheap 99.00 in Argos!! Umbrella fold and came with car set, footmuff and cosy toes. I looked on ebay and managed to get one brand new for 60.00 including postage. Even more of a bargain till i noticed Argos selling them for 50.00. It wasn't till i unpacked it after having the baby and used it i discovered the little problems with them. The car seat sis not have a wedge (a polystyrene wedge that allows the baby to sit more laid back). the padding on the actual car seat was ridiculously thin i could not see how this could be comfortable especially when i then went to the locl babies r us and felt there mosaic range which felt far more comfortable. The handle of the car seat had no comfort grip on it and although i fing that the ones with comfort grip do not help that much this one was terrible my hand hurt within the first 15 mins of carrying it and the handle felt all wrong as though it was in the wrong position nt comfortable or easy to carry even to the car!!! The hood on the car seat was really flimsy and had no support in it, eventhe wind was able to push it down. The raincover sat on the edge of thepushchair hood which was madeofthin material and leaked really easily The two hoods, one of the pushchair and the car seat one did not meet even by far and again the wind just whistle in andstraight onto the baby!!Again the handles of the pushchair dod not feel right they felt too high although i am only small. The other huge problem i found which is very important was the removal of the car seat of the pushchair!! With this pushchair you have to push the buttons in on each side of the car seat and lift the pushchair all at the same time!!! On your own, how are you supposed to manage that one!!!
All in all a cheap little pushchair but within 4 days i had gone to Babies R Us and purchased the Graco Mosaic Travel System. Yes more money but worth the value.
Therefore i am warning anyone looking into purchasing this pushchair don't spend it bit more and get one which will keep baby comfortable and warm!!!!
hope this helps.
Buying Tickets - DONT GET RIPPED OFF!
Buying tickets on ebay is a difficult thing to do and get right.
Remember
never buy your tickets too far in advance (both ebay and paypal have a time limit on refunding money from dodgy or unfulfilled deals) - i would say no more than a month in advance. Remember that after a certain time limit it is difficult or impossible to leave feedback so you cant even warn others. Front row centre tickets to joseph in August might be tempting to buy as a xmas pressie for someone but how disappointing if you get there and they dont let you in (not to mention a waste of money!) and you would not be able to do a thing about it.
identify the seats/ position of the tickets before you purchase - some sellers state three rows from the front but that can mean three rows from the front of the upper circle rather than the front of the theatre.
check that the star you want to see is appearing (or likely to be appearing unless illness occurs) as all stars have holiday periods - dates are listed on theatre websites.
use paypal only - that way if the tickets are forged etc you can reclaim your money
check feedback - if someone states that tickets are being resold due to nonpayment of previous buyer then check that is what has happened - if it is then they would leave feedback stating that!
make sure you are not bidding against a shrill bidder - this is just the seller wanting top prices.
check that you will receive a full refund of your cost (not just the ticket price that the seller paid origonally) if the venue is cancelled.
Make sure you will receive the tickets in plenty of time - on the day is just not good enough and never arrange to meet outside the theatre or venue - they get very busy and even if the seller is going to be there (which im sure they are not always!) then they are probably going to the venue aswell and will not want to miss any of the action if they cannot find you!
Ask for the ticket price that was paid - this will help you to understand if they are decent tickets. (some sellers are selling 15 pound joseph tickets for nearly 100 - is it really worth it?)
Remember row A tickets are not always good tickets (especially if on the end of a row) and do not always have a good view - always ask for the seat numbers and check out the seating plan to see if they are good - some good websites have ratings for seat locations to help and the rake in theatres isnt always good at the front so you could end up sitting in row c and see nothing due to a taller person in front. sometimes its worth sitting further back or finding out where the rake is the best in the theatre.
some events do not distribute tickets until a week or two before the event - probably to prevent people from making money from them but dont be tempted to buy unless tickets are in hand!
check the feedback of sellers... and i mean check it - dont just look at the comment but check what they bought and see if that buyer is genuine and not just someone increasing their feedback from fake auctions.
Buying tickets to the theatre or event should lead toa fantastic experience - just be sensible!
REMEMBER - if you are ill or cant make it you will not get a penny back! Be sure you want them before you buy them
RUBBER STAMPING
When I first started stamping, I didn't know that there were alternatives to ink pads .I felt really limited by only being able to stamp and then colour in. Quite often, I wanted multi-coloured images but didn't like the multi-colour pads available.THEN I DISCOVERED BRUSH MARKERS AND CHALKS (I cover Chalks in my HOW TO GUIDE - BLENDING CHALKS
