Royal Mail and Paypal

Royal Mail and PaypalHi, as a seller you can always expect to have a certain amount of items 'go missing' in the postal system. However just of late I have noticed a large increase in buyers claiming not to have recieved thier items (including recorded). Now if you were to take it as a percentage I worked it out at roughly 6.7% of my items are claimed as not recieved, now when my legal department get involved around 4% of items suddenly arrive!!!! are Royal Mail really to blame??That still leaves 2.7% of items going missing (about 50% of them are recorded), now you might think that a little strange given they are sent recorded.? In the past month alone Myself, friends and family have counted that between us we have reciveved through our OWN letter boxes 27 items that should of been signed for and the 'postie' just posted anyway, when we contacted Royal mail they claim that to be 'RUBBISH' and that thier posties wouldnt do that. Now back to 'as a seller' this creates real problems when I get people claiming not to have recived thier items and make a claim through paypal, as paypal WILL NOT accept a 'stamped' royal mail proof of postage slip as proof, which is a legally stamped proof of postage. They only accept tracking numbers, however Royal mails recorded delivery tracking numbers can only be tracked if the person has SIGNED for it!!! See where im going with this!!Once again Paypal is all too quick to refund the same old 'I havnt recieved my item, but I dont want a replacement sent, just a refund' claim. Now as a business I have to account for all my items (lost or not), I have to date proven 8 people have conned me out of my item and money, but do paypal or ebay wish to know!! OF COURSE NOT.........im just a seller.....!!!Now as a percentage of overall post lost by royal mail officially it is less than 0.2% of everything, so either royal mail is getting really bad at its job or certain ebay members are exploiting the UN-SIGNED for recorded delivery system..........I believe that as well as non-payment strikes, ebay should introduce an invisible counter that strikes a mark against an ebay member who has claimed not to have recieved thier item, now if that person suddenly has 2,3,4 or more either thier local postie has become a thief or something else is going on and the system could riase flags or warning signs. This needs to stops as it is ruining Ebay bit by bit and sellers are the ones who lose out, some people might think 'SO WHAT' its a business they can afford to lose the odd item!!, so if those people would be kind enough to call my bank and morgage company and tell them that I would be most greatful. On the scale I run I probably lose out by around 350-450 a year through what I believe to be 'dis-honest' members, now some sellers must be losing thousands of 's a year.Unfortunatly the small 1%-2% of ebayers spoil it for the rest.Thank you for taking the time to read my gripe.Take careFoodog
